The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has issued a statement to apprise its esteemed clientele of the continuous technical difficulties at the Weija Treatment Plant.

This has led to a deficiency in water production, consequently resulting in reduced pressure and irregular water flow in different regions.

The management of GWCL has determined that a number of causes, such as malfunctioning machinery, higher demand, regular maintenance, and unanticipated events, are responsible for the current state of affairs.

Because of its elevated locations, the Western Accra region—which includes the settlements of Gbawe, McCarthy Hill, Anyaa, Lapaz, and Darkuman—has been severely impacted by this problem.

The administration of GWCL is urging residents to use less water during this time in response to these difficulties. To lessen the effects of the water deficit, customers are asked to conserve and utilize water carefully.

Even while the low pressure problems are being addressed, certain places can be more severely affected than others.

“The GWCL is giving their water supply top priority in order to minimize the impact on vital service providers and important facilities like hospitals and schools.

“The management would like to thank all of the consumers for their cooperation and understanding at this difficult time.

“A group of committed engineers is actively working to repair the issue and restore water service as soon as possible, the GWCL promises its esteemed consumers.

“The GWCL Customer Service team is here to help with any questions or issues you may have in the meantime. To obtain timely information on the status of the work, customers are invited to download the GWCL Customer App from the Google Play Store or the App Store.

“The GWCL sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience the water scarcity has caused and values the public’s understanding.

“In times of need, the company asks that customers and essential service providers call 0800 40000 (Vodafone’s toll-free number), 0302 2218240, 0207385088, 0207385089, 0207385090, and via GWCL WhatsApp lines (0555123393, 0555155524).”

“The GWCL management remains dedicated to finding a technological solution and resuming regular water service as soon as is practicable. They express their gratitude to the people for their cooperation and patience throughout this time,” the statement said.
