The passing of Cardinal Richard Kuuia Baawobr has been characterized by Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a significant loss for Ghana.
63-year-old Cardinal Baawobr passed away in Rome on Sunday, November 27, 2022, a few days after being released from the hospital following heart surgery.
We grieve the passing of His Eminence Richard Kuuia Baawobr, who was a Cardinal in the Roman Catholic Church until his death, Bawumia stated on Facebook.
He continued, “This is a great loss for Ghana. I express my sympathies to his personal family, Wa Diocese, and the Roman Catholic Church generally. I pray for Cardinal’s soul to find peace.
