H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo received the Democracy Cup from Speaker of the House of Representatives Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.

This historic event served as a major turning point in the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the 4th Republic of Ghana.

The President’s televised speech on April 28, 2022, which kicked off the 30th anniversary festivities and highlighted Parliament’s dedication to advancing democratic governance, was something the Speaker thought about.

The speaker outlined the numerous commemorative events that have been held over the previous six months.

Among these efforts were mock parliaments, public talks, and interactions with national leaders, religious leaders, students, and individuals.

On July 17, 2024, Accra Sports Stadium will host a football game between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

In front of the elections in December 2024, this event seeks to involve young people in the festivities, advance national harmony, and advance peace and unity.

Excitement will be raised by a pre-game match between Parliament and former Black Stars players.

The Speaker invited the President to the game and conveyed his heartfelt appreciation for his support.

He pledged that the President of Parliament will keep working with the Executive, the Judiciary, and other relevant parties to support Ghana’s democracy and fulfill the demands of its people.

President Akufo-Addo promised his support for the event and praised the Speaker and the Parliamentary leadership for their initiative.

He underlined how the Parliament and the Presidency work together to further Ghana’s democracy. He declared, “It is to the credit of the Ghanaian people that they have embraced democracy,”

The Speaker and the House were commended by the President for the event’s broad representation of the two houses of Parliament.

Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, the chief of staff, Secretary to the President Nana Bediatuo Asante, Cyril Kwabena Oteng Nsiah, the clerk to parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, the deputy clerk, Patricia Appiagyei, the deputy majority leader, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, the Coordinating Director of the Public Affairs Subdivision, Madam Kate Addo, the Coordinating Director, Mr. David Damoah, the director of media relations, and other high-ranking members of the Presidency and Parliament were present at the event.
