President John Dramani Mahama has emphasised the importance of strong institutions and accountability in Ghana’s governance and economic change, emphasising that efficient use of public resources is still vital to the country’s advancement.
Speaking during the inauguration of Dr. Pamela Graham as the new Auditor-General, he pointed out that public financial management must be honest, effective, and disciplined in order to accelerate development projects, increase social investments, and restore macroeconomic stability.
He further emphasised that audit reports must go beyond statutory compliance to serve as useful tools for strengthening governance, increasing internal controls, and eliminating waste.
“The strength of every democracy is measured not only by those who govern but also by the institutions that hold governments accountable.” President John Dramani Mahama.
