The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) is expected to present extensive financial records, including bank statements, mobile money transactions and hundreds of other documents, in the ongoing GH¢291 million financial crimes case involving former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid and other accused persons.

Prosecutors allege that approximately GH¢291.57 million and US$332,407 were unlawfully obtained from 35 bulk oil transporters and oil marketing companies between 2022 and 2024.

According to the OSP’s allegations, part of the funds was subsequently transferred through various businesses and allegedly used to acquire properties and other assets.

The financial records are expected to form a key part of the prosecution’s case as the OSP seeks to establish the movement and alleged use of the funds in the GH¢291 million corruption and financial misconduct case.

The case has attracted significant public interest as prosecutors examine alleged financial transactions involving companies operating in Ghana’s petroleum and oil marketing sector.
