ECG Announces Planned Power Outage in Ashanti Region on October 8

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise in parts of the Ashanti Region, which will result in a temporary interruption of electricity supply.

According to ECG, the planned maintenance works are aimed at improving power supply reliability and enhancing electricity service delivery to customers in the affected communities.

The maintenance exercise is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Areas to Experience Power Outage

Customers in the following areas are expected to be affected by the temporary ECG power outage:

Kronom Cement, Boussie, Asuofua, Heman, Amoaman, Adankwame, Adugyama, Nketiah, Kokote, Abira, Namong, Barekese Headworks, Akyease Booster Station, Offinso, KCG, Ahenkro, Kodie, Apagya, Aduamoah, Denase, Akom, Mowire, Amoako, Kwamang, Nkwantakese, Boamang and Tetrem, as well as surrounding communities.

ECG said the temporary power interruption is necessary to enable its technical teams to carry out the scheduled maintenance safely and efficiently.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas are therefore advised to make the necessary preparations ahead of the October 8 electricity outage.

The power company has apologised to customers for the inconvenience the planned maintenance exercise may cause and assured the public that the work is intended to improve electricity supply and service delivery in the region.
