A three-person team from the Accra Internet Exchange (Accra-IX) and PAIX Data Centers paid the National Communications Authority (NCA) a courtesy call at the NCA Tower on Friday, February 14, 2025.
The visit was intended to congratulate Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, the Acting Director General, on his appointment.
The importance of Rev. Fianko’s hiring was emphasized during the visit by Mr. Bright Tawiah, Managing Director of PAIX, who pointed out that his deep comprehension of industry difficulties offers a chance to go on and grow current projects.
Speaking on local involvement at the internet exchange, Mr. Silas Peprah, Accra-IX’s executive director, emphasized the organization’s incredible development, going from having no traffic to having roughly 30 active peers.
Additionally, he presented strategic plans that included campaigns to draw in more content providers and workshops to inform Internet Service Providers (ISPs) about the advantages of data centers.
