A 56-year-old Nigerian named Uchechukwu Chima was arrested on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in the Accra suburb of Oyarifa as a consequence of an intelligence-led operation by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC).

Substances thought to be narcotic drugs were found during a search by the NACOC team at the suspect’s hiding place. The suspected material tested positive for both cocaine and heroin, both narcotic narcotics, in field tests.

Two million, one hundred and twenty-one thousand, six hundred and sixty United States dollars (US$2.1 million) is the estimated street worth of the suspected narcotics, which weigh roughly 192 kg of cocaine and 0.42 kg of heroin.

Uchechukwu Chima, the suspect, has been a target of NACOC for a while and is said to be the brains behind some of the organization’s previous arrests and seizures. Millions of people who would have died from taking these dangerous narcotics have been spared thanks to NACOC’s seizure and arrest of this significant amount of drugs from the streets.

In order to safeguard the security and welfare of all Ghanaians as well as the global community, NACOC is steadfast in its goal of making Ghana an unattractive location for drug trafficking.
