Four police officers were reportedly ordered to be arrested and detained by Inspector General of Police Mr. Tetteh Yohunu for the audacity to arrest a judge for a traffic incident, in what seems to be a throwback to the days of road indiscipline and untouchable personalities.

The vehicle of Her Honor, Mrs. Angela Attachi, was arrested in December 2024 by Inspector Godwin Dey, Inspector Francis Adjei, Sergeant Daasebre Oti Boateng, and Corporal Jonah Adjubulisah during a routine road disciplinary duty. However, the case was dropped after the Adenta Police Commander stepped in.

But last week, the police headquarters called the policemen to come to the CID headquarters to write a statement regarding the judge’s car being arrested.

Following the taking of their statements, the cops were placed under arrest in what seems to be a power struggle.

“When we tried to stop her after the careless driving, she refused to stop and drove off, so we followed the car until she was blocked by another vehicle along the line.”

“She then parked the car in the middle of the road and left in another vehicle.”

One of the policemen described the incident on condition of anonymity: “The commander and other senior officers interfered because of her position, and the matter was dismissed when we went to the Adenta Police Station to press charges.

Since the order for their incarceration comes from the top, he continued, they have been informed that only the Inspector-General of Police has the authority to order their release.
