President John Dramani Mahama has named Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu the Bank of Ghana’s second deputy governor in line with Section 17 of the Bank of Ghana Act, 2002 (Act 612), as amended.

At Access Bank Ghana PLC, Mrs. Asante-Asiedu, a seasoned corporate executive and chartered banker, held the position of Group Head, Retail Banking.

Mrs. Asante-Asiedu had diplomas in journalism (Ghana Institute of Journalism, 1997) and politics and public affairs reporting (International Institute of Journalism, Berlin, 2000). She also has an MBA in marketing from GIMPA Business School (2021) and an MA in journalism studies from Cardiff University (2005).

A Ghana-based chartered executive banker (CIB, 2024).

She has completed executive programs at Marquette University’s Les Aspin Center (2003), Oxford University’s Said Business School (2023), and the Wharton School (2015).
