A teenager (name withheld) at the center of a widely shared “sex” video featuring Edward Senam Azalekor, the Assembly Member for Effiakuma West, has described what happened.
He alleges that while several watched, he was dragged from his hostel, beaten, and coerced into having intercourse with the young girl at Effia Cocoa Villa in the Western Region.
According to the victim, who told the story to Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show, the Assembly Member showed up at his hostel at around one in the morning on the day of the incident along with three other people and a girl they said he was seeing.
“They took me to their vehicle and drove me to a vulcanizing shop around Effia Cocoa Villa. The girl’s mother was there when I arrived,” the victim recalled.
He claimed that the Assembly Member first invited him to have an affair with the girl’s mother after he arrived.
Things got out of hand when he refused.
At that point, he entered his car, pulled out a belt, and began striking the girl and myself. Then he asked me to spend the night with the female next to the vulcanising business at the side of the road, he added.
The victim also stated that while some bystanders used their cell phones to record the scene, others watched as the crime happened.
“People passing by were watching us while we were being forced to have an affair, and others stood by recording videos. I could not tell my friends what had happened out of shame,” he continued.
Joseph Idun, the victim’s coworker, stated that they made an unsuccessful attempt to find their comrade after he was carried away.
“It was around 1 a.m. when they came to our place. They claimed our friend was in a relationship with the girl and said they wanted to take him away. They made him get into their vehicle and drove off. We tried to trace them, but we didn’t have a vehicle, so we were unsuccessful,” he said.
The victim came back a few hours later, he said, but he wouldn’t tell anyone what had happened until a video of the incident came to light.
Yaw Agyemang, the victim’s father, said that he didn’t know about the incident until he watched a video.
He clarified, “I was at home when someone approached me with a video of my son being forced to have an affair with a girl. I immediately called my son to ask why he had not informed me.”
According to Mr. Agyemang, he then got in touch with his son’s teacher, who denied knowing about the incident but agreed to investigate.
“I did not understand why the school had not taken any action or reported the incident to the police. I wanted to report it myself, but the teacher asked me to exercise patience since my son was under their care,” he continued.
Meanwhile, police have reported that on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in Effiakuma, suspects Edward Azalekor, 52, and Martin Amuzu, 35, who is the female victim’s uncle, were arrested.
