Fuel prices at the pumps are now being adjusted by a few Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

The move comes after industry predictions that the price of petroleum products would rise by two to more than five percent per litre.

According to checks conducted by JoyBusiness on February 1, 2026, Star Oil, the market leader, changed the price of their petrol, selling a litre at GH9.99 instead of GH9.97.

Star Oil informed JoyBusiness that its countrywide lower prices are impacted by the change.

The business clarified that the evaluation was required in order to adjust its prices to reflect the recently amended, slightly higher petrol price floor.
