Abena Amoah, the managing director of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), has been named Chair of the Committee of Regional Representatives (CRR) of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA), a significant leadership position within the global capital markets organization.

Industry commentators characterise the announcement of the appointment at the 58th ICMA Annual General Meeting and Conference in London as a major acknowledgement of Ghana’s increasing prominence in international capital markets.

Between the ICMA Board and its fifteen regional committees and chapters, the CRR serves as a crucial liaison.

It oversees the strategic direction and governance of over 630 member institutions in 71 different countries.
