Ghanaian youth have been reassured by Mr. Richard Nyarko, the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Eastern Regional Youth Organizer, that the betting tax will be eliminated under the party’s next administration.
In order to make sure that this does not turn into a mirage, he revealed on Radio 1.
The party’s resolve to mobilize youth support for the NDC before to the 2024 election.
Mr. Nyarko emphasized the NDC’s commitment to elevating youth voices in the political sphere. He stressed the value of the youth’s active participation in the democratic process and voiced confidence in their potential to bring about constructive change.
“We have a focus and our focus is getting the youth in the region ready for the 2024 election and for Change, and to make the NDC party attractive to you. Our mission for the 2024 election is that 80% of the you in the region (Eastern Region) should stand with the NDC so we are fighting for every single youth vote, and chasing after every youth in the region,” he stated.
“To the youth who go on sleepless nights to bet only for Akufo-Addo to take ten per cent of your winning…when he has no hands in strategic betting, NDC is telling you that it will scrap the betting tax for you”, he asserted.
The NDC’s pledge to address urgent issues that directly affect young people was at the heart of Nyarko’s speech. Among these topics was the party’s promise to eliminate the betting tax if it wins the 2024 election.
