Hon. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the founder and head of the Movement for Change, has urged Ghanaians to elect a president based on his or her vision and integrity rather than on the basis of party affiliation.
According to him, the Movement’s core objective is to organize the more than 6.6 million floating voters who share his vision for changing Ghana.
He claimed that the Great Transformational Plan (GTP) was necessary in order for Ghana to move past the NPP and NDC.
He claims that the Movement for Change wants to establish a union government with representatives from political parties, religious organizations, and professionals to advance Ghana’s transformational agenda for the benefit of all young people.
The independent candidate for president stated that 60% of all cabinet appointments in his administration will be made from among the younger age groups, and that there would also be a gender balance to keep things in balance.
He stated that “we are in a period of transformation” and that “the next significant change after Ghana’s political independence in 1957 is about to take place.”
The planned GTP, according to the former trade and industry minister, is based on 15 topics, the foundations of which are a stable economy, industrialization, agriculture, energy, health, and education to transform Ghana.
In order to compete with developed nations like the United States, China, Japan, Germany, France, South Korea, and India, Mr. Kyerematen cited industrialization as the cornerstone of his strategy for creating jobs.
However, he pointed out that in order to sustain industry and agriculture, the economy must always be robust, which is why funding for industrialisation must be sufficient.
The “One District, One Factory (1D1F) policy” was considered by the founder of the Movement for Change as the biggest accomplishment in getting Ghana where it is now.
He claims that the Ashanti region profited from 55 initiatives funded by the 1D1F program, of which 26 are currently in operation and 13 are in the planning stages.
In order to expand the continent’s economy, he pledged to turn Ghana’s commercial center, the Ashanti area, into a manufacturing hub.
