Christian Tetteh Yohuno, a Commissioner of Police (COP), has been named by President Akufo-Addo as the next Deputy Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in charge of Operations.
Akufo-Addo appointed the person based on the Police Council’s recommendation.
The President wished the COP all the best in carrying out his responsibilities and offered his sincere congratulations on his well-earned appointment.

Christian Tetteh Yohuno’s Background
He has served in the government in a number of capacities, most notably as the Director-General of the Department of Motor Traffic and Transportation.
He was named Director-General of Police Operations on December 5, 2015, and he was promoted to Commissioner of Police Mr. Yohuno in January 2016.
In January 2012, he received a special promotion to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP). In recognition of his outstanding work in the fight against armed robbery and other criminal activities in the nation, he was granted the Grand Medal earlier in 2011.
Before that, Mr. Yohuno was also the Accra Regional Operations Commander while serving as the Divisional Commander for Accra Central from November 2007 to May 2009.
After that, he was named Deputy Regional Commander for Accra, then in 2013 he was promoted to Regional Commander, a position he held until December 5, 2015. Among other degrees, he has an Executive MBA in Project Management.
