According to preliminary accounts, several of the passengers on board a military helicopter that crashed in the Ashanti Region’s Adansi Akrofuom District were burned to death.
As emergency reaction teams rush to the location, little information is available about the event, which happened on Wednesday, August 6.
The cause of the crash and the complete list of people on board have not yet been confirmed by authorities.
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) said in a brief statement that a Z-9 helicopter has allegedly vanished from sight after taking off early on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. When contact was lost, the plane was on its way to Obuasi.
According to the Ghana Armed Forces, attempts are being made to locate the missing chopper and restore contact.
Three crew members and five passengers were among the eight individuals on board, according to early accounts. The whole list of people on board has not yet been made public by authorities.
As investigations proceed, more information is anticipated from the Ghana Armed Forces and other pertinent organizations.
