The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned maintenance exercise in the Accra East Region, which will result in a temporary interruption of electricity supply to some communities on Friday, October 2, 2026.
According to ECG, the scheduled maintenance forms part of efforts to improve power supply reliability and service delivery to customers within the affected areas.
ECG Power Outage Schedule
The planned ECG power outage is expected to take place during the following period:
- Date: Friday, October 2, 2026
- Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Region: Accra East
Areas Affected by ECG Maintenance
The electricity interruption will affect parts of the following communities and locations:
- Oyarifa
- Ayimensah
- Prisons Training School
- School Junction
- University Farms
- Surrounding areas
Residents and businesses within these locations are advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled electricity supply interruption.
ECG said the maintenance work is intended to support improved electricity service and network performance in the Accra East Region.
The power distribution company has apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary outage and expressed appreciation for their understanding and cooperation.
