Four people have died while another person sustained injuries in a fatal road accident at Anyinasin Junction along the Accra-Kumasi N1 Highway in the Eastern Region.
The tragic road crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, involving a Toyota Voxy and a MAN Diesel trailer.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Bunso Fire Station received an emergency distress call at 5:21 a.m. and arrived at the accident scene at approximately 5:35 a.m. with a seven-member rescue team.
Firefighters Rescue Trapped Victims
Firefighters worked to extricate victims trapped inside the vehicles following the collision. They also secured the accident scene and assisted authorities in maintaining the free flow of traffic along the busy Accra-Kumasi highway.
The Toyota Voxy, with registration number GR 9430-26, suffered extensive damage and was completely wrecked in the crash.
The MAN Diesel trailer, registered GS 4064-26, also sustained significant damage to its front compartment.
Four Confirmed Dead in Highway Accident
One male victim was rescued from the scene and transported to Kibi Government Hospital for medical attention.
However, four other victims were pronounced dead. The deceased comprised three males and one female.
The identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.
Police Investigate Cause of Crash
The exact cause of the Anyinasin Junction road accident remains under investigation.
After the rescue operation and initial scene management, the accident scene was handed over to the Ghana Police Service for further investigations.
