George Darko, a musician, guitarist, and songwriter from Ghana, was born in Akim Oda on December 20, 1957. He was a highlife music pioneer in Ghana and well-known for his original guitar playing and songs.
When he joined the band The Satellites in the late 1970s, he began his musical career. George Darko quickly began to develop his own songs even though the band was recognized for performing popular song covers. “Akoo Te Brofo,” which he released in 1983, became his first big hit.
