The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has announced a change in the official announcement times for local gold prices, effective October 26, 2026, through March 27, 2027.

The adjustment affects all licensed gold buyers in Ghana and is intended to align local gold pricing announcements with changes in the United Kingdom’s seasonal time schedule.

GoldBod Announces New Gold Pricing Schedule in Ghana

In a compliance notice dated October 25, 2026, the Ghana Gold Board directed all licensed gold buyers to observe revised announcement times for local gold prices under its pricing framework.

The adjustment follows the end of British Summer Time in the United Kingdom, which changes the time difference between London and Ghana. As a result, the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) Gold Price AM and PM benchmarks will occur one hour later in Ghana during the specified period.

Revised Local Gold Price Announcement Times

From October 26, 2026, to March 27, 2027, the new schedule for Ghana’s local gold price announcements will be as follows:

Gold Pricing BenchmarkPrevious Ghana TimeRevised Ghana Time
LBMA Gold Price AM9:30 a.m.10:30 a.m.
LBMA Gold Price PM2:00 p.m.3:00 p.m.

All licensed gold buyers are required to update their operational procedures to comply with the revised schedule when conducting gold purchasing transactions.

Gold Trading Rules Remain Unchanged

GoldBod clarified that the adjustment applies exclusively to the timing of the international gold price benchmarks and the corresponding announcement of local gold prices in Ghana.

All other regulations, procedures, and requirements governing local gold price determination and gold trading activities will remain unchanged. Licensed gold buyers are therefore expected to maintain compliance with existing rules while adopting the new announcement times.

The Board also called for the cooperation of all licensed buyers to ensure a smooth and efficient implementation of the changes.

When Will the Previous Gold Price Schedule Return?

According to the notice issued by the Compliance Directorate of the Ghana Gold Board, the previous announcement schedule is expected to resume on Sunday, March 28, 2027, when the United Kingdom returns to British Summer Time.

GoldBod indicated that it would communicate any additional operational guidance if necessary.
