A tribute song to the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu, better known as Daddy Lumba, has been released by highlife artist Kaakyire Kwame Fosu, also known as KK Fosu.
A National Candlelight Vigil was conducted last Saturday to honor the renowned musician’s remarkable musical career, and Ghanaians have been grieving his passing for a few days.
In the recently released song “Lumba,” KK Fosu offers his condolences to the family who has lost a loved one and exhorts them to remain resilient during these trying times.
In an interview following the release, KK Fosu stated that Daddy Lumba was a music legend that he always admired and who also helped to establish the careers of up-and-coming musicians.
This tribute song honors Daddy Lumba’s contributions and the influence he has had over the previous forty years.
According to KK Fosu, “He is an inspiration to all younger Highlife artists, and he personally shaped and inspired my career.”
Zizi also shot the visualiser for the recently released single, which is accessible on a number of streaming services.
