The Ghana AgroTech Fair 2026 officially opened by President John Dramani Mahama at Black Star Square, reiterating his administration’s dedication to revolutionising agriculture via innovation, technology, and local capacity building.

In order to propel a new age of productivity and investment in Ghana’s agricultural sector, the three-day expo, which is sponsored by Ghana Export-Import Bank, brings together important stakeholders from the fields of agribusiness, technology, and research.

In order to modernise the agricultural value chain and position agriculture as an engine of economic growth and national prosperity, the President visited exhibitions after the opening ceremony, interacting with state-of-the-art technologies and domestic inventions.

Speaking to the audience, President Mahama emphasised the importance of agriculture as a pillar of economic change and the necessity for Ghana to give priority to locally created solutions in order to boost production and lessen dependency on imported systems.

As part of this agenda, the President declared that he would start construction on the first phase of the Farmer Service Center initiative at Afram Plains on Friday. This is a flagship program that will establish 50 centers across the country to offer farmers mechanisation support, training, and extension services.

Under the theme “Transforming Agribusiness through Local Innovation and Technology,” the Ghana AgroTech Fair 2026 lays the groundwork for a future in which innovation becomes investment, ideas become entrepreneurship, and agriculture becomes a sustainable engine of national growth.
