President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to balanced national development, promising continued investment in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture and economic recovery to improve living conditions in the Ahafo Region.
The President gave the assurance during a Citizens’ Engagement held in Goaso on Saturday, marking the conclusion of his two-day Resetting Ghana Tour of the Ahafo Region.
President Mahama expressed appreciation to traditional leaders and residents of the region for their support during the 2024 general elections, stressing that his administration remains focused on delivering development projects and improving access to essential public services across the country.

Mahama Announces Road Infrastructure Expansion
As part of the government’s development agenda, President Mahama announced plans to expand road construction and rehabilitation projects to all 16 regional capitals ahead of Ghana’s 70th Independence Anniversary.
The initiative is expected to improve road connectivity, facilitate the movement of goods and services, and support economic activities across the country.
Improved road infrastructure remains a key priority for the government as it seeks to strengthen transportation networks, promote regional development and create an enabling environment for businesses.
Government Targets Improved Healthcare Services
President Mahama also highlighted plans to improve access to primary healthcare and specialised medical treatment as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s healthcare delivery system.
The proposed interventions are intended to ensure that more Ghanaians can access essential medical services while reducing challenges associated with obtaining specialised treatment.
The government’s healthcare agenda forms part of its broader commitment to improving public welfare and ensuring that development benefits reach communities across all regions.

Agriculture and Economic Recovery Remain Priorities
The President further underscored the importance of agriculture and economic recovery in achieving sustainable national development.
Continued investment in these sectors is expected to support livelihoods, strengthen local economies and create opportunities for residents, particularly in rural communities.
President Mahama’s engagement with residents and traditional authorities in Goaso forms part of his administration’s efforts to communicate government policies, address public concerns and promote inclusive development.
The Resetting Ghana agenda seeks to advance economic recovery, improve public infrastructure and expand access to essential services as the government works towards equitable development across the country.
