Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, is taking part in the 2025 Open Parliament Day, which will be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, from October 6–10, 2025, as part of international events commemorating the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit.

Together, the Basque Parliament, the Congress of Deputies of Spain, the Open Parliament e-Network (OPeN), and the Open Government Partnership (OGP) are organizing the event, which brings together legislators, ministers, representatives of civil society, and governance experts from around the globe to share ideas on enhancing accountability, transparency, and public participation in parliamentary processes.

The Minister emphasized Ghana’s dedication to promoting social inclusion and gender equality via transparent and participatory governance when she participated in a high-level panel discussion on Parliamentary Affairs and Inclusivity as part of the conference.

In order to guarantee fair representation and efficient policymaking, she underlined the significance of including gender viewpoints into legislative reforms and parliamentary activity.

In a related development, the delegates from Ghana and Morocco met bilaterally during the summit and shared National Action Plans based on the OGP framework.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Muhammad Ghayate, led the Moroccan delegation, and Ghana’s ambassador to Spain, H.E. Madam Regina Appiah-Sam, was also present.
