The 24th of April 2023 has been designated a public holiday by the interior ministry.
This is due to the statutory public holiday known as Eid-ul-Fitr, which falls on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
However, due to the fact that April 22 falls on a Saturday, the president has added a new public holiday to be observed on Monday, April 24, 2023, in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemoration Days Act (ACT 601).
The holiday should be honored nationwide, according to a statement issued by Mr. Ambrose Dery, Minister of the Interior.
One of the two main holidays observed by Muslims worldwide is Eid al-Fitr. As it celebrates the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from sunrise until sunset every day, it can be translated as “the feast of fast-breaking.”
