Patience Ozokwo, a seasoned Nollywood actress, has disclosed that her parents arranged for her to get married at the age of 19.
“Marriage found me at just 19. It wasn’t my choice, my parents arranged it.” in a post on X, she said, “At first, I was scared. I didn’t know how to love a man I didn’t choose.”
The actress went on to say that although she was first afraid because she did not pick her husband, their love eventually blossomed. Despite her husband’s 15-year illness before to his death in 2000, the couple remained together for 23 years.
They had three children, according to Patience Ozokwo, and she later adopted five more. One of the adopted children died, leaving her with seven children.
She continued by saying that she never got married again after her husband passed away, preferring to concentrate on raising her kids and teaching them the virtues of commitment, respect, and responsibility.
