Spotify’s annual report on Monday revealed that Nigerian artists produced more over N60 billion from the streaming platform in 2025.
According to the statistics, Nigerian artists’ earnings has increased by more than 140 percent in the last two years.
It showed that independent artists or labels accounted for over 58% of all royalties earned by Nigerian musicians on Spotify in 2025.
The report states that in 2025, Nigerian musicians produced 1.6 billion listening hours and 30.3 billion streams.
Local streams of Nigerian female musicians also increased by 55% throughout the reviewed year.
Nigerian musicians are included in over 12 million user playlists in Nigeria and approximately 320 million user playlists worldwide, demonstrating the continuous appeal of Nigerian music to audiences throughout the world.
On Spotify alone, about 60 million playlists including Nigerian musicians were made in 2025.
