Police arrest the suspect in shooting and injuring of the Adansi Dompoase chief.

The police arrested a crucial suspect in last Saturday’s shooting of the Adansi Dompoase chief at a burial at Obuasi.

The 30-year-old, known as Nana Yaw Dankwa, was taken into custody by the Ashanti South Regional Police Command.

Police said that on Saturday, November 29, they heard a gunshot and responded by disarming and arresting the suspect.

Police retrieved an unregistered single-barreled gun loaded with ammunition during the arrest.

The injured chief received medical attention and has since been discharged, the police added.

While investigations are ongoing, the suspect, who is still in custody, will appear in court.
