The Ministry of Sports and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have formed a five-member committee to lead the search for a new Black Stars head coach.
The committee includes former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah and ex-Black Stars defender Tony Baffoe, who will contribute their experience to the process of identifying a suitable coach for the senior national team.
The decision follows discussions between the Sports Ministry and the GFA regarding the future of the Black Stars and the need to appoint a new technical leader.
The committee has been tasked with scouting, assessing and recommending potential candidates for the vacant Black Stars coaching position.
The move comes as the GFA begins the process of finding a replacement for Carlos Queiroz, whose contract was terminated following Ghana’s recent poor results in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The appointment of the next Black Stars coach is expected to be a major focus for Ghana football as the national team seeks to rebuild and improve its performances in upcoming international competitions.
With Stephen Appiah and Tony Baffoe involved in the selection process, the committee brings together individuals with significant experience in Ghana football, the Black Stars and international football.
The Sports Ministry and the GFA are expected to announce further details about the committee’s work and the coaching selection process as consultations continue.
