Ghana’s mixed 4×100-meter freestyle team ended Day 2 of the 2026 Commonwealth Games with a time of 3:53.60, which was lower than the national record of 3:42.97.
On the second day of competition at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, Ghana’s mixed 4×100-meter freestyle team completed with a swimming time of 3:53.60, much less than the national record of 3:42.97.
In a competitive field that included hosts Scotland as well as heavyweights like Australia, Canada, England, and South Africa, the quartet of Ivan Snowden, Abeku Jackson, Nubia Adjei, and Unilez Takyi—swimming out of lane one of heat three in that order—pushed hard but ultimately lost.
Out of the 18 nations that competed in the three heats of the 4×100 mixed relay, Ghana placed 15th overall and did not advance to the final.
Ivan Snowden, a 20-year-old who made his Commonwealth Games debut earlier in the day, finished 48th out of 68 competitors in heat 5 of the 50-meter freestyle, clocking in at 24.66 seconds.
As the country continues to pursue that elusive medal in swimming at the 23rd Commonwealth Games, the Ghanaian quartet will compete individually and in a mixed medley on July 28.
