An Accra Circuit Court has granted bail to a visa agent who is accused of stealing 55 Emirates airline tickets from Landtours Ghana Limited’s Emirates’ Airline Ticket Application.

Madam Adwoa Pomaa entered a not-guilty plea to charges of theft and unauthorized circumvention.

In the amount of GH200,000.00 with four sureties, the accused was granted bail by the court presided over by Mrs. Susana Eduful.

The sureties must be members of the accused person’s immediate family, the court ruled.

The court ordered Madam Pomaa to go to the police station each Tuesday.

Additionally, the court ordered the prosecution to file and serve all disclosures and witness testimonies.

The complainant, Mr. Mawuli Dzebu, is the CEO of Landtours Ghana Limited, a business that sells airline tickets among other things, according to Police Chief Inspector Isaac Anquandah, the prosecutor, who testified before the court.

According to the prosecution, the defendant lived in Odorkor, while her accomplice, one Kudjo, was still at large.

According to the statement, the complainant notified the police in June 2021 that their Farelogix ticketing booking application, which belonged to Emirates, had been accessed. As a result, 55 Emirates tickets of GHS610,000.00 were issued to some travelers by unidentified parties.

According to the prosecution, as a result of their May 2021 travels to Dubai, South Africa, Kenya, and China, the individuals concerned were placed on a stop list at the Kotoka International Airport in July 2022.

It stated that on October 1, 2022, Mustapha Ibrahim, a witness, was detained by the Ghana Immigration Service at the Kotoka International Airport upon his arrival from Dubai and then turned over to the Police to aid in the investigation.

Ibrahim reportedly told the police that Madam Pomaa helped him with all of his travel arrangements to Dubai, including the ticket, after he gave her more than GHC 10,000.00.

The prosecution claimed that intelligence resulted in Pomaa’s detention, who admitted procuring Ibrahim’s visa and travel arrangements so that he could visit Dubai in May 2021.

According to the report, Kudjo procured her the ticket while Pomaa sajd one Martin, a white man in Dubai, helped her with the Dubai visa.

The prosecution claimed that Madam Pomaa was unable to direct the police to the residence of her accomplice because she had previously informed them that she did not know Kudjo’s address and that they typically met in town and transacted business using mobile money.

It stated that it was impossible to reach Kudjo at the phone number provided by Pomaa.

According to the prosecution, Kudjo was being sought after in an effort to aid the investigation.

It stated that three of Pomaa’s mobile phones had been removed for inspection in order to aid the inquiry.
