Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the minister of finance, has voiced serious worry about the ongoing corruption and poor management that have hampered the Produce Buying Company (PBC) Limited’s operations, cautioning that the situation is intolerable and needs to be immediately changed.

Dr. Forson bemoaned the drastic decline of the once-thriving cocoa purchase company during the inauguration of a new Governing Board for PBC Limited in Accra.

“I am deeply worried about what PBC has become. This is not good, and it cannot continue,” Dr. Forson said pointedly.

“I hear you cannot even pay your workers. This cannot continue. Let us work together to turn things around.”

He reminded the recently established Board of its vital duty to rebuild the company’s efficiency, transparency, and public trust.

“As a new governing board, you have a big responsibility. You must not fail. The future of PBC and the livelihoods of many cocoa farmers depend on your decisions,” he continued.

Mr. Nana Meisu Adu, the newly sworn-in Board’s chair, thanked the government for its confidence in them during his remarks.

Additionally, he gave the Minister his word that the Board will do all in its power to return PBC to stability and expansion.
