The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has received twenty (20) Nissan Navara pickup trucks from the Minister of the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, to improve its mobility and operational effectiveness throughout the nation.
The Minister said in his speech that the cars were meant to help the Service carry out its responsibilities in an efficient manner, especially by improving mobility and operational response.
He asked police to make sure the vehicles are only utilised for official purposes and stressed the need for responsibility in their use.

Hon. Muntaka emphasised the government’s commitment to increasing the capabilities of security services in line with the President’s agenda for enhanced national security.
He praised the GIS for its dedication and hard work and advised officers to maintain professionalism in carrying out their jobs.

The Comptroller-General, Mr. Samuel Basintale Amadu, who accepted the vehicles on behalf of the Service, stated that the vehicles attest to the fulfilment of the President’s promise to provide the Immigration Service with the resources it needs to carry out its mandate and that the provision of the vehicles is a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to equipping the security agencies.
In order to help border patrols and other operational tasks, he gave the Minister his word that the cars would be deployed responsibly and maintained appropriately.
