The Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
According to a statement signed by Speaker Mr. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin and released by his office on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the meeting will start at Parliament House in Accra at 1400 hours.
Speaker Bagbin formally informed the public and Members of Parliament (MPs) of the updated date by invoking Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, the statement said.
“Pursuant to the notice to defer the commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic dated 6th October 2025, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, pursuant to Order 58, give notice that the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall now commence on Tuesday, 21st day of October 2025, at 1400 hours at Parliament House, Accra.” the statement read.
Key national concerns, bills, and financial matters—particularly those related to the 2026 budget—are anticipated to be tabled for discussion during the third and final meeting of the current parliamentary calendar year, which begins with the resumption.
This news comes after a previous notice on Monday, October 6, 2025, that postponed the Meeting’s initial start date of Tuesday, October 14.
Stakeholders and the general public are eagerly anticipating the tabling of important measures and financial issues that will determine the course of the nation’s economy as Parliament reconvenes.
