Dr Bawumia was ranked third on the ballot, and Kennedy Agyapong was ranked first.
Before the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary on January 31, 2026, flagbearer candidates have cast ballots for their spots on the ballot.
Kennedy Agyapong, a former politician, went to the top of the ballot paper and took the top slot.
Former Agriculture Minister Dr Bryan Acheampong took second place, and former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was selected by many to take third place.
Former party general secretary Kwabena Agyepong and former education minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum were chosen for fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In accordance with the internal electoral procedures published on July 29, 2025, the balloting was carried out under the direction of the party’s National Elections Committee (NEC).
