The introduction of Ghana’s new e-visa platform by the government, led by President John Dramani Mahama, is enthusiastically welcomed by the Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA).
This historic project is a significant step toward increasing Ghana’s tourism competitiveness and establishing the nation as one of Africa’s most approachable and welcoming travel destinations.
For tourists, business travellers, conference attendees, and members of the African diaspora who still favour Ghana as their entrance to Africa, the implementation of a fully computerised visa application process would greatly simplify travel arrangements.
We know personally how difficult visa processes can occasionally deter people from making trip plans because we are tour operators.
By streamlining the application process, cutting down on wait times, and improving the entire visitor experience even before visitors arrive in Ghana, the new e-visa system will help eliminate many of those obstacles.
TOUGHA is especially pleased with the government’s decision to waive visa expenses for bearers of African passports.
This audacious Pan-African action is highly consistent with African integration objectives. intra-African commerce and cross-cultural interaction while upholding Ghana’s longstanding role as the continent’s leader in pan-Africanism.
We also want to praise the government’s cooperative strategy for involving the business sector in the consultation process that resulted in the execution of this effort.
In this sense. As members of the private sector consultative team, Kwaku Passah Sr., Fuseini Nawaru, and Michael Orleans provided their knowledge, industry experience, and insights to the effective implementation of the e-visa platform. TOUGHA is proud of their contributions.
Their participation demonstrates the vital role that public-private partnerships play in influencing laws that promote investment, tourism, and national development.
The introduction of the e-visa system, in our opinion, will have a good effect on Ghana’s tourism industry by raising visitor arrivals, building destination confidence, and enhancing the nation’s appeal in a highly competitive international travel market.
TOUGHA is still dedicated to collaborating closely with the government and other pertinent parties to position Ghana as the top travel destination for leisure, culture, and history. MICE travel and business in Africa.
