Despite the party’s lawsuit against the Electoral Commission, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has committed to closely monitor the continuing limited voter registration drive.
On Tuesday, September 12, the NDC accused the Electoral Commission of making it challenging to register voters in its strongholds.
Over 1.3 million people who turned 18 since the last voter registration drive in 2020 are the primary target of the continuing limited voter registration.
On September 12, the exercise officially began, and it will last for 21 days, ending on October 2.

Speaking to the media, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the NDC, stated that party members will watch the exercise to make sure that the EC is not manipulating the process.
“We are prepared, very prepared, but we also care about the low-income registrants who must deal with the expenses and restrictions associated with being a voter. We presently have agents and officers in each of the Electoral Commission’s 268 district offices across the nation, and we are closely and actively observing the process.
“We will make sure that the EC and NPP’s attempts to rig the system are defeated and soundly defeated.”
