The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has increased its human resource capacity by holding a graduation ceremony for its 19th cadet intake at the Immigration Academy and Training School in Assin Foso, Central Region.
Interior Minister Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak emphasized in his speech the importance of GIS in preserving national security and fostering economic growth.
As the first line of defense, he claims that the GIS plays a crucial role in national security and growth by monitoring everything that enters and leaves the nation, including the granting of visas to foreigners.
Hon. Muntaka announced plans to automate the resident permit procedure and gave GIS the responsibility of implementing a strong and creative strategy to regulate migration in the nation.

He advised the Service to use contemporary technology to increase operational efficiency.
The Minister also revealed that the GIS has outlined a precise strategic plan for accomplishing its goals in accordance with the 24-Hour Economy strategy.
He called on the Service to maintain its zeal and be persistent in its work to allow foreigners to obtain immigration permits in less than twenty-four hours.
The graduating cadets’ successful completion of the program was praised by Hon. Muntaka, who also acknowledged their unwavering commitment and hard work.
He exhorted them to maintain the values and strict discipline that were taught to them and to fulfill their jobs with the utmost integrity.
