On September 6, 2023, two robbery suspects were taken into custody by the police after they allegedly attacked a mining firm in Bogoso, Western Region.
Derrick Kwabena and Daniel Ofori alias Donetobe, together with six other suspects who are now on the run, attacked the mining firm and some police officers who were on duty there. While the other conspirators fled, the police intervened and were able to immediately capture Derrick Kwabena.
A follow-up investigation resulted in the capture of suspect Daniel Ofori, who was waiting for the other suspects and the loot in a Toyota Hilux pickup truck.
A amount of gold concentrate in a fertilizer bag, a revolver, a cutlass, five BB cartridges, a Toyota Hilux pickup with the registration number GN 3020-17, and a few talismans were also taken from the suspects.
While attempts are being made to apprehend the other suspects, the two suspects are being held in custody legally.
