On the Accra-Cape Coast Highway, the GNFS Rescue Team was called to an accident scene around 0530 hours today in front of the NDC Regional Office in Cape Coast.

Filed by PRO, Central Region

The collision included a Mercedes Sprinter minibus registered CR 623-25 heading towards Cape Coast and a stalled Man Diesel truck registered WR 1546-V.

One victim was pronounced dead, but the other three were freed from the wrecked car by the fire rescue crew. The rescue crew and the National Ambulance Service helped 18 additional patients, who were then sent to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.

Witnesses said that the Sprinter minibus, which was passing another car, struck the Man Diesel truck, which was parked on the road because of a mechanical issue.

Twenty people were injured in various ways in the tragedy, and one woman was declared deceased.
