Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the convener of FixTheCountry, has declined to enter a plea to the new felony accusations of treason brought against him.

But because Section 238 of Ghana’s Criminal and other Offenses (Procedure) Act, 1950 (ACT 30) provides a permit to decline to plead to a charge against him, his action is valid.

Consequently, the court entered a “not guilty” plea into the court’s records.

Mr. Barker-Vormawor was previously charged with a felony treason charge and accused of attempting to overthrow the country.

The legal challenges to the actions taken against him were acknowledged by the court thanks to the efforts of his attorneys. As a result, the AG brought further accusations. On Thursday, the young activist was read the further charges.

Proceedings have been adjourned to June 7.
