The National Democratic Congress (NDC)-appointed committee that was tasked with looking into claims of vote-buying and inducement during the Ayawaso East parliamentary primary is scheduled to deliver its report today, Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

To look into claims that certain candidates used bribery at the party’s parliamentary primary on Saturday, February 7, the NDC established a three-member committee.

One of the allegations is that Baba Jamal, one of the candidates, gave delegates television sets, cash, and other things in an effort to sway their votes.

Even though Mr. Jamal ultimately prevailed in the election, the results have caused controversy, with the majority in Parliament and several influential NDC members demanding that the results be revoked.

Executives from constituency parties, however, have vehemently resisted requests for the annulment.

Inusah Fuseini, a committee member, told Citi News on Monday, February 9, 2026, that the team’s task is to gather facts and that it must engage all pertinent parties involved in the primaries.

“We are a fact-finding committee, so we must gather evidence. In doing that, we must speak to all persons who were connected to the Ayawaso East NDC primaries,” he stated.

According to Mr. Fuseini, the committee has met with candidates and party executives at the constituency and regional levels, as well as party officials who oversaw the election.

“So we are speaking with the party representatives who supervised the election, we are also speaking with the candidates, and some of the constituency executives and regional executives. We will make recommendations to the party,” he continued.

It is anticipated that the committee’s conclusions and suggestions will direct the party’s subsequent actions in responding to the accusations made during the primaries.
