The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has refuted rumours that the administration is getting ready to change ministers, calling them untrue and deceptive.

Godwin Ako Gunn, the NDC’s deputy national communication officer, encouraged the public and party members to ignore rumours about a supposed reshuffle that were making the rounds on social media and other unofficial platforms in a statement released on Saturday, June 6.

The party claims that no formal statement regarding any changes to the makeup of the government has been made, and that reports asserting otherwise should not be taken seriously.

The NDC voiced concern over what it called the “growing spread of misinformation,” pointing out that some people intentionally promote misleading narratives that have the potential to confuse people and undermine public trust in reliable information sources.

A stated letter apparently from the Jubilee House, which included ministers allegedly fired and others allegedly appointed to new posts, was also denied by the party.

The message warned people not to share or depend on the document’s contents and called it a fake.

The NDC also reminded residents of the legal ramifications of publishing and disseminating false information, citing the Cyber Security Act of Ghana.

The party advised the people to confirm information through official channels before disseminating it and cautioned that anybody found guilty of purposefully disseminating false information could face legal repercussions.

The NDC reaffirmed its dedication to openness and urged Ghanaians to get updates on government affairs from reliable, authorised sources.
