British High Commissioner Highlights Strength of Ghana-UK Health Partnership

Christian Rogg, the British High Commissioner to Ghana, led a delegation that paid Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister of Health, a courtesy call to discuss continuing health sector reforms and bilateral cooperation.

The expansion of the National Health Insurance Scheme, investments in primary healthcare, local pharmaceutical manufacturing, retooling of health facilities, and the implementation of specialised nursing and medical training programs are just a few of Ghana’s advancements in improving healthcare delivery that Hon. Akandoh highlighted during the meeting.

The Minister emphasised Ghana’s commitment to international conferences and global health alliances while highlighting government efforts to address workforce issues, improve healthcare technologies, and finish existing hospital projects.

Mr. Rogg talked about goals for cooperation in the lead-up to the UK-hosted Global Development Conference and stressed the significance of bolstering the Ghana-UK Health Partnership.
