The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has taken steps to remove 318 companies from Ghana’s Companies Register as part of efforts to strengthen corporate compliance and improve the integrity of the country’s business records.

The ORC stated that the action is being conducted in accordance with Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) in a statement dated May 19, 2026.

The Registrar claims that the impacted organisations were included in Volume 40 of the ORC Companies Bulletin, which was released on May 15, 2026, and that they will be taken off the register in three months unless there is compelling evidence to the contrary.

The companies involved will stand dissolved after the procedure is over, according to the ORC.

The Registrar clarified that the effort is a component of continuous regulatory and compliance enforcement actions meant to guarantee Ghana’s Companies Register’s correctness, reliability, and credibility.

The Office also reaffirmed its dedication to advancing greater corporate governance and business transparency standards while bolstering adherence to Ghana’s corporate regulatory framework.

As authorities step up efforts to cleanse the business sector and enforce compliance standards, the development serves as a new warning to companies that do not comply with statutory filing and regulatory duties.
