Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has summoned Parliament to an emergency sitting on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, following a petition by 48 Members of Parliament seeking scrutiny of a series of major narcotics seizures linked to Ghana.
According to a notice issued by the Office of the Speaker, Parliament will reconvene at 12 noon to consider matters prompting the recall of the House, which is currently on recess.
The development follows a formal petition submitted by the 48 MPs, who are seeking Parliament’s attention over several reported drug seizures, including the interception of approximately 3.9 tonnes of cocaine at France’s Port of Dunkirk.
