On Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports Stadium, the Black Stars of Ghana defeated Switzerland 2-0 in a friendly match to improve their morale before the Fifa World Cup.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, the Black Stars scored their first goals through Mohammed Salisu and Antoine Semenyo in the second half.
After a strong first half, coach Otto Addo replaced Elisha Owusu, Afriyie Barnieh, Iaki Williams, and Jordan Ayew with Antoine Semenyo, Kofi Kyereh, Kamal Sowah, and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
After the Swiss defenders failed to clear a Kofi-Kyereh corner, Salisu soared high to head in the first goal.
The second goal for Ghana was scored by Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo, who finished a feed from Kamaldeen Sulemana after a strong move down the left wing.
The Black Stars’ World Cup campaign will get underway against Portugal on November 24 in Group H.
