In relation to a robbery incident on a mobile money vendor in Walewale, North East Region, two individuals have been taken into custody.
According to the preliminary police investigation, the two suspects, Zakaria Yamusa, also known as Vandam and Fatao Issah, shot and killed two individuals on Monday, February 12, including the mobile money merchant. They reportedly injured seven other people.
“The suspects are in custody and will be put before court to face justice.”
“Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has personally reached out to some of the injured victims and the families of the deceased through telephone calls, assuring them of a thorough investigation into the matter,” the statement said.
