Nominations for the next by-election to the Ejisu constituency are now being accepted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The nomination period will run from Tuesday, April 2, to Thursday, April 4.
The choice was made in response to the MP and Deputy Finance Minister John Ampontuah Kumah’s passing last month.
The party said that prospective parliamentary candidates can purchase and submit their nomination forms at the constituency party office in a statement signed by the party’s general secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.
A GHʖ3,000 non-refundable application fee must be paid in bankers draft made payable to the New Patriotic Party National Headquarters, Accra, in order for a prospective parliamentary candidate to obtain nomination forms, according to the NPP.
A non-refundable filing fee of GH˖35, 000 must also be paid in bankers draft to the New Patriotic Party National Headquarters in Accra by each prospective parliamentary candidate.
However, the statement added that a 50% refund on the filing fees will be given to women, youth (those between the ages of 18 and 40), and persons with disabilities (PWDs). As a result, they must pay GH˼17,500 as a non-refundable filing cost.
